Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter, melted
  • 2 cups + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream, at room temperature
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 and 1/4 cups pecan halves
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar, or more to taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping
  • Ice cream, optional for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to form coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake crust for 18-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. For the filling, whisk eggs in one bowl and combine melted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, and heavy cream in a pot over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil for 3 minutes.
  5. Temper the eggs by slowly drizzling in some of the warm mixture while whisking continuously. Combine back into the pot and add pecans, salt, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  6. Pour filling over baked crust and bake for another 28-34 minutes until slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
