Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (not natural)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 44 whoppers
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and roll each in granulated sugar before placing on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for approximately 8 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool slightly before transferring to a cooling rack.
  6. Once cooled, place one whopper on each cookie as a spider body. Melt chocolate chips in intervals in the microwave until smooth. Use to drizzle over whoppers for legs and eyes.
