  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Gather and prep all ingredients: chop onions, mince garlic, and cube beef.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook until aromatic.
  4. Add beef cubes seasoned with salt and pepper; brown on all sides.
  5. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and spices; mix well.
  6. Pour in beef broth and coconut milk; bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 1.5 hours until tender.
  7. For garlic naan: Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl; add warm water to form dough. Knead briefly and let rise until doubled in size.
  8. Shape naan into rounds and bake on a baking sheet until golden brown.
