Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 ¾ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and instant yeast. Stir in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and warm water until a sticky dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours, until doubled in size.
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil. Transfer the dough into the dish and stretch it gently to fit.
  3. Let the dough rest for another 30 minutes while you prepare garlic oil by heating remaining olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and a pinch of salt; cook until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Dimple the dough using your fingers. Drizzle garlic oil evenly over it and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and flaky sea salt.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before slicing into squares or strips and serving warm.
