  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • Fresh parsley for flavor

Instructions

  1. Prepare a greased 9×13-inch baking pan and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a small pot over low heat, add garlic, and cook until fragrant. Allow to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and parsley.
  4. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter to the dry mixture; knead until smooth (10-12 minutes).
  5. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls. Place in the prepared pan and let rise until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg wash; bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare additional garlic butter while baking; brush on hot rolls after removing them from the oven.
