  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water and let sit until foamy.
  2. Add salt, oil, and two cups of flour; mix until combined. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and let rise in a greased bowl for one hour.
  4. Punch down the risen dough and divide into 16 pieces; shape each piece into bone-like ropes by cutting slits and twisting.
  5. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F and bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic salt and parmesan before serving with marinara.
