  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup fruit juice or vinegar (as bourbon substitute)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces toffee chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth; add melted butter, fruit juice or vinegar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Fold in toffee chips and chopped pecans.
  5. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least two hours.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until slightly golden; cool on wire racks.
