  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for dough)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp black cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheesecake filling by beating cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla until smooth. Refrigerate.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, light brown sugar, and additional granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in egg yolks and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, black cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, flatten slightly, add cheesecake filling in the center, and wrap dough around it. Roll in black cocoa powder before placing on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool before serving.
